
Joshua McDowell, 22, was last seen at around 5:30 p.m. on January 16 in the 700 block of Monte Lane in the Covington neighborhood of Monte Casino, Covington police announced in a release. He was seen walking around Benton Road in the days leading up to his disappearance.
"Joshua struggles with mental illness and is believed to be a danger to himself," the release read.
McDowell reportedly did not have access to a vehicle, and his phone was still pinging within the Monte Casino neighborhood as of the initial release of the alert.
Authorities included a photo of McDowell, but indicated that he had more facial hair at the time of his disappearance. He was five feet eight inches tall, weighed 150 pounds, and had brown hair and brown eyes. McDowell was last seen wearing blue jeans and a light colored jacked.
Covington police announced on 11:30 a.m. on Sunday that McDowell was found deceased in a "wooded area near the Monte Casino neighborhood."
